“Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.” (Col 1:28)
“How then shall they call on him whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news.” (Rom 10:14-15)
“And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” (Mk 16:15-16)
General Reflections:
We are called by God to proclaim Him and to teach everyone with all wisdom. Not with our wisdom but the wisdom coming from God so that we may present everyone mature in Christ. We are called to present everyone (we, family members, friends, and brothers and sisters in the community) mature in Christ. This is possible only if we ourselves continue to know and trust Jesus more and more every day and have a personal relationship with Him. Then we can share our knowledge of Jesus with others and encourage them to also develop a personal relationship with Him.
How can they know Jesus and have personal relationship with Him, if they have not encountered Him? How can they encounter Him if they have not heard? How can they hear about Him if we do not come to them and invite them to our CLPs and camps and accompany them in their journey.
We are called by God to pursue our work of evangelization, formation, and renewal. We are called not to be mediocre but be aggressive in inviting others to our CLPs, and conduct more CLPs than what we have done in the last few years.
Go to other parishes, go on mission to other areas, evangelize the youth, the singles, couples, and matured single men and women. Invite non-Filipinos to our CLPs.
Be more active in serving and participating in the worship life of our respective parishes and generously support our parish in giving our time, talents and treasures.
Personal Reflections:
Do you sincerely believe that you are called by God to proclaim Him and teach everyone we know with wisdom?
Do you rely on your own wisdom rather than the wisdom coming from God?
Do you seek God’s wisdom through prayers, reading and reflecting on the Word of God, reading other Christian books, attentively listening to the homilies during Mass, and regularly attending your Household meetings, gatherings, assemblies, and our formation teachings and trainings? Or do you think that you already know everything that you do not have to do any these anymore?
Do you sincerely believe that you are personally called by God for our work of evangelization and mission? If not, why? If so, how do you respond to this call; actively or passively?
Are you willing to invite others to your CLP? Are you willing to do more CLPs, go to other parishes, and open up new mission areas?
Are you generous in giving your time, talents, and treasures to your parish and our community? Do you regularly give financial support to our community?
